Ken Abrams joined Hey Rhody Media as a Contributor in 2018 and an Editor in 2023. He writes about the performing arts, local sports, craft beer, and more. Ken also curates the 10 essential “Must Do’s” each month and contributes to the “Food Trends” column. Ken also writes for Newport, RI-based WhatsUpNewp, and national music blogs NoDepression, FolkRadioUK, and Popdose.

A lifelong Rhode Islander, Ken is a former educator in the Scituate school system where he taught Social Studies for over 30 years. He graduated from Boston University and has an M.A.T. from Brown University. You can also hear Ken on the radio – he DJs “The Kingston Coffeehouse,” a roots/folk/rock radio show every Tuesday, 6-9 PM on WRIU 90.3 FM.
