Hey Rhody Media Co. was founded in 1975 as Providence Media, INC. with the introduction of East Side Monthly. Over the years Providence Monthly, So Rhode Island, The Bay, and Hey Rhody magazines were added to the publication line-up. During the 2020 pandemic the decision was made to combine East Side Monthly and Providence Monthly into one publication to serve the capitol city and simplify the line-up to three monthly regional publications (Providence Monthly, So Rhode Island & The Bay) and one monthly statewide publication (Hey Rhody). 

Through the years, websites, instagram channels, twitter channels, and facebook channels were created alongside each of the four publications. In 2020 we brought on our first Digital Media Specialist to keep up with the ever changing digital landscape. Since then our social media and web channels have grown exponentially  in subscribers, members, and viewers while we have created new and engaging content from photos and posts to Instagram reels and stories. 

In 2023 we launched our first separate website venture with RhodyEats.com, a restaurant listings and search engine by locals for locals. Few industries were hit as hard as the restaurant industry during the 2020 pandemic and we wanted to do everything we could to help those small business in any way. Our hope is that as the content library and user base for RhodyEats.com grows we can drive new business to restaurants across the state. A print and digital advertising component has been added to this venture where we are using the Rhody Eats ethos to put together the best possible advertising opportunities for local eateries to use their marketing budget wisely.
