Since landing her dream job in 2018, Elyse’s responsibilities have included developing cover stories, overseeing the Life & Style and Art & Culture sections, and mining small businesses for her Rhody Gem columns; additionally she provides writing. As the face of the company, she often appears on local TV, radio, and at events, proudly repping the magazines. In the community, Elyse serves as co-president of the Rhode Island Press Association, and prides herself on being a small business advocate. Prior to joining Hey Rhody Media Co., Elyse juggled freelance roles which included communications consulting for nonprofits in arts and healthcare, while building a portfolio of writing as a contributor to a host of national shelter magazines. Elyse is the author of two craft books, and one decor book, translated in multiple languages. When she’s not writing, Elyse is happiest spending time with her family and friends, or off on jaunts exploring, which often result in new story leads.
