Hey Rhody Media Co’s slate of publications (Providence Monthly, So Rhode Island, The Bay Magazine, Hey Rhody) are for and by Rhode Islanders at their core. We love to hear your favorite Rhody stories. The wonderful locals that you’ve met, the hidden Rhody Gems that you’ve found, the wonderful food that you have eaten. HRMC is a small business with a small but mighty staff, but we can’t be everywhere and know everything. Your feedback and ideas can help us to never miss something new in the Ocean State. We are proud to be able to share stories and images from Rhode Islanders in the pages of our magazines. Hey Rhody Media Co’s magazines are the winner of a multitude of awards and we would be proud to share your stories. We are looking forward to hearing your story and seeing your photos and videos. We hope we can include them in an upcoming issue.
If we decide to use your submission in our publications a member of our staff will reach out for more information if necessary.

• Stories and photos from uniquely Rhody experiences
• New Businesses: New businesses are opening across the state everyday. You can help us stay in the loop by submitting any information you have about new restaurants, shops, experiences, etc. in RI
• Rhody Gems: Every small town has that little “hole in the wall” business that the whole town loves. The mission of our Rhody Gems article is to spread the word about this wonderful businesses and help the rest of the state learn about them.
• Personality Profile: Our personality profiles shine a light on the Rhode Islanders who make this state as great as it is. Do you know someone who deserves to be highlighted?

Story Ideas
Is there something in Rhode Island that you can’t believe we haven’t covered yet? We are always open to our readers’ ideas. Submit your pitch for something in Rhode Island that you think deserves coverage by using the submission form below.
Photo & Artwork Submissions
We are always looking for visually striking, engaging, inspiring, high-resolution Rhody-centric photos. Before submitting, please read our image requirements below.
Please submit your original photos and artwork. If one or more of your photos have been previously featured in a Rhode Island publication or outlet we request that you label them as such. Please don’t send images through Facebook or Instagram as they shrink them way down. Feel free to send multiple photos, but try to be selective. We receive many submission and ensuring that your photos are striking will make them stand out from the pack.
Photo and Video Submission Guidelines
We love seeing your photos and artwork and are honored to share them with our statewide community through the pages of our family of magazines. Following are some issues that commonly appear in images submitted to Hey Rhody Media Co.
PLEASE: Set your camera at the highest setting right now before you take any photos.
Once you have selected the photo(s) that you want to share, please step through this list to make sure they are ready for publication.
Please submit only your own photography. Please do not resize or edit your photos or videos. If we need to resize them or optimize them for print, we have better technology to do so. Please set your phone or camera at the highest resolution and file size before you take your photos and send us the originals.
We can’t contact everyone who sends in submissions, so please make sure you confirm that your submission follows the guidelines below before you click “submit.” By sending in your photos and videos you give us permission to use them in print and online and you confirm that you have all legal rights to the distribution and redistribution of submitted works.
We cannot use photos or videos:
• That have been resized
• That are cropped too tightly
• That are blurry
• That are too low resolution
• That have been run through a social media filter. Social media sites reduce file size and resolution
• That have watermarks or type on them
Legal permissions
We can’t contact everyone who sends in submissions, so please make sure you confirm that your submission follows our copy and image guidelines before you click “submit.” By submitting copy, photos, and/or videos — through our online submission form — you are confirming that you have full legal rights to the distribution and redistribution of all submitted photos, artwork, copy, etc. Clicking “submit” means that you take on sole civil or legal responsibility should any ownership of your submitted works be disputed by a third party. Clicking “submit” means that you agree to HRMC using, modifying, or appending your submission in the magazine, website, and videos that fall within our publishing umbrella.
